Employment Requirements

  • Must be a citizen of the United States

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Must be of good character, as determined by a thorough background investigation

  • Must not have committed, or been convicted of, a felony offense--Must possess a valid NC driver’s license and have a good driving record

  • Must be a high school graduate or have attained a GED certificate

  • Meet the requirements in Section .0300

  • Minimum Standards for employment and certification as a justice officer 12 NCAC 10B .0301
