The Patrol Division is responsible for answering and responding to 911 calls, proactive patrols, serving arrest warrants, other criminal processes, traffic enforcement, business and residential security checks and investigation of misdemeanor offenses. The Patrol Division is operational twenty-four hours a day, 365 days per year, covering 409 square miles in the county. The Patrol Division is made up of four squads; approximately ten patrol officers per squad to patrol the unincorporated portions of the county. Deputies work rotating twelve hour shifts and are assigned to each of the six patrol districts to minimize response times.
