Support Services Bios

Major David Caldwell - He is a lifelong resident of Orange County. He attended Chapel Hill High School where I graduated in 1972. Upon graduation he attended North Carolina Central University on a basketball scholarship and graduated in 1976 with a degree in Recreation Administration.

 

Major Caldwell joined the Army in 1980 where he stayed until 1985 and served in the Military Police Corps, the Infantry, and a Drill Sergeant. While in the military he provided personal security for two Generals in Heidelberg Germany and also participated in the invasion of Grenada.

 

Major Caldwell joined the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in 1985. While at the Sheriff’s office he received his degree in Criminal Justice from Mount Olive College in 2001.

 

He left the Sheriff’s Office in 2008 and returned in 2016.

Major Caldwell is currently responsible for Support Services, Community Outreach, and assists in various aspects of the divisions.
